Carly Smallman is a comedian, actress, improviser, writer and musician. You might have either seen her on telly performing comedy on BBC’s Rob Brydon Show, criticising celebrities on E4/BBC3 or pretending to be an ‘average woman’ on an advert for Take A Break Magazine. Concerned that she didn’t have quite enough on her plate she has joined SCR to try her hand at radio presenting too! This is currently working out incredibly well for her, as she now has a platform from which to share her Fleetwood Mac obsession with the local community.
She has previously done a bit of presenting for BBC Radio Leicester during the Leicester Comedy Festival, but wasn’t allowed to touch any of the buttons or slidey-things on the sound desk. Because of this injustice, she resolves to touch ALL of the buttons and slidey-things during her show on SCR.
You can catch Carly on SCR every Sunday from 2-4pm, as she discusses the news stories that nobody really cares about, the UK comedy scene and if she is too hot or cold in the clothes that she has chosen to wear to the studio. The Sun describes her as ‘a bundle of energy’, so why not tune in and decide for yourself?
Carly is a fan of Nando’s, self tanning moisturiser, and Lindsey Buckingham (in the 70’s when his hair was really sexy). Her favourite song is ‘Go Your Own Way’ – and she regularly does.
