Gearing Up for Winter at Sydenham Radio!

Hey all!  Glad to have you reading our blog over here at Sydenham Radio.  We are winding down the summer and ready for fall here in the UK.  However for us the most important season of all is the Winter.  We love the winter and the holidays that come with it.  Don’t get us wrong, we love autumn weather as well, but theres nothing like the end of the year to enjoy ourselves and look back at another year gone by.

This is going to be a bit of a casual blog post, where we don’t commit to talking about anything radio or Sydenman, but rather talk about some ancillary items that fancy our interest.  In this case we are talking about the seasonal changes that come with the end of August and beginning of September.  So without further ado, here are some of the items that we like to check off our list at the winter approaches.

Get All Cozy with Some Warm Winter Clothes

NewmanThe first thing we love about winter, but isn’t exactly a popular opinion, is the cold weather.  We’ve been through the Summer and while we recognize every season has its values, we are pretty much done and would like to move on.  This is the beautiful part of the seasons, that we can appreicate them for their unique aspects.  Some people hate the cold weather that the winter brings, but we love it!  We head on over to C.G. Newman and pick up some warm winter coats that will allow us to get all cozy when trekking through the cold air.

Combine this with some classic winter items such as hot toddies, fireplaces, cocoa with mini marshmallows and if we are lucky some snow for the kiddies! (Who doesn’t love some sledding when the snow hits in January).

Getting Prepped for Christmas Songs!

A little early, eh?  We agree its early, but we disagree that this is a bad thing.  We run a radio station here, so we are always thinking about music and the songs that accompany the season.  It comes without saying that some seasons are more musical than others, and Christmas season is probably the most musical of all.

Some people loathe christmas songs and carols, and we understand that everyone has their own tastes.  But it only lasts for a few months out of the year, so why not enjoy it while it lasts?

What are your thoughts?

Do you have a way that you get prepped for the season? We’d love to here about it.  Leave a comment or shoot us an email to let us know! Maybe we’ll update the article and let our readers know about it!
