11TH SEPTEMBER – A 9/11 SPECIAL

September 2011 marked the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States. We all remember where we were when we first heard that a plane had crashed into a New York skyscraper, and the chilling feeling that came over us as we began to understand that this was no accident taking place on our TV screens. The impact of 9/11 remains at the forefront of politics and current affairs ten years on, and the West’s reaction has been much-discussed in the media in recent days.

However, Chris Humphris presented a special, hour-long programme including your memories of the day – where you were when you heard the terrible news, what your reaction was, and what you thought might have happened afterwards, compared with what did.

As well as this, Chris marked the occasion with a collection of songs which are reflective, peaceful and hopeful of a world without such terrible events.
