About Us
Our Programmes
Sydenham Community Radio is a not for profit organisation, run by volunteers with a passion for Sydenham and its community.
We’re a radio station for Sydenham and the surrounding area, with programmes for local people, by local people. We play a variety of music, including: blues, classical, folk, hits from the decades, indie, R&B, rock and soul. Our speech content covers community events, issues and conversation and we also have a regular poetry programme.
We have produced live shows online during midweek evenings and weekends for over a year and we held our first 28-day FM broadcast in July.
Listening to Us
You can listen to our live programmes online from 7-10pm, Tuesday to Friday and at weekends from 3-10pm. If you miss anything as it ia broadcast, you can find an archive of our shows to Listen Again.
We do not currently offer live audio for mobile devices or wi-fi enabled radios, but this is something we are looking to provide in the future.
Our eventual goal is to win a long-term licence to broadcast on radio.
Volunteer Training
We offer training to anyone that wishes to contribute, even those who have no previous experience of working in radio, so that they can produce good quality programme segments on any subject. These could range from local history, to issues affecting the community, to music – in fact anything that might be of local interest.
